Razer Refreshes Its Blade Lineup: RTX GPUs, 240Hz Refresh Rate, 4K OLED Display

Following a brief preview at CES 2019 back in January, Razer has officially kickstarted the mid-year refresh of their Razer Blade laptops today.

Now available in two versions, the Razer Blade 15 has received some pretty significant internal upgrades — the 0.78-inch base model now rocks the latest 9th Gen i7 CPU for improved performance, along with a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card that should be able to handle anything you throw at it.

The 0.7-inch advanced model has all of the above, and further upgrades the GPU to a RTX 2080 Max-Q. The more interesting aspect of this version is its two display options — there’s a full HD screen with a 240hz refresh rate (pretty much the best you can get today), along with an OLED 4K Touch screen for those who really value colours and graphics.

For easy reference, here’s a summary of the two versions:

On top of that, the triple headed snake has unveiled a new 17-inch Razer Blade Pro as well. Dubbing it “the ultimate desktop replacement”, this version is 25% smaller than its predecessor and features a vapor chamber cooling system to maximise heat dissipation. While it features the same internals as its 15-inch counterpart, an internal storage of 512GB does give it the edge as a dedicated workstation.

The new Razer Blade 15 lineup is available right now on Razer’s official website, with the base and advanced models starting at S$2,499.90 and $3,429.90 respectively.

It should be noted, however, that the versions with 9th Gen Intel Cores and 240hz refresh rates — along with the Razer Blade Pro — aren’t available yet, so you might want to hold out if you want to truly future-proof your purchase.
